Jim heads Lopata Flegel’s Tax Department, and has been with the firm since its inception in 1990 after having joined the Atlanta office of Lopata’s national firm predecessor in 1986. Jim serves mid-sized owner-managed companies and their principals and specializes in flow-through entities such as S-Corporations, Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in accounting from Eastern Illinois University. He also holds a Masters of Accounting with a tax emphasis from the University of Missouri – St. Louis where he received the Pacioli Graduate Accounting Award. Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jim is an avid tennis player and participates in numerous USTA and WTT leagues and tournaments.
