TAX MANAGER

Due to strong, sustained growth, we are currently seeking a Tax Manager who is self-motivated, client service oriented, team players to join our tax team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and reviewing tax engagements for business, individuals, trusts and estates
    • Business entities will include corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, consolidated and multi-state reporting and planning considerations
  • Perform complex tax research and apply to client situations
  • Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities for clients
  • Manage various tax consulting projects including projects related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes
  • Assist with client M&A and succession tax planning in collaboration with firm members, clients and legal counsel
  • Represent clients in front of federal and state tax authorities when necessary
  • Involvement with client and prospect proposals, budgeting projects and billing
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships for a variety of clients
  • Develop business by identifying projects and opportunities for existing clients and introducing us to prospective new clients
  • Communicate with other practice area team members to proactively and effectively serve our clients
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff members with an eye toward team building
  • Participate in formal and informal staff evaluations and career path development
  • Overtime limited beyond tax season

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA License Required
  • 5 years or more of recent and relevant public accounting experience
  • High-level of technical expertise for compliance and planning
  • Significant experience with S-corporations and partnerships flow-through entities
  • Critical thinking and multi-task project management skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with service team and clients
  • Experience in managing projects and staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Possess curiosity to dig into complex tax issues

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with high-level tax preparation and research software – CCH ProSystem FX and Intelliconnect
